Bessie Olena Wiggins, age 99, was born December 29, 1903 in Byars, Oklahoma
to James Manuel and Alice (Davis) Nail. She passed away December 24, 2003,
in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Bessie grew up in the Asher and Wanette area.
She married Charles Wiggins on December 30, 1923; they were married for 66 years, until his death. She was a housewife caring for the home and their six children. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Shawnee. Bessie and Charles taught in the children's Sunday School for many years. Bessie loved to sew, crochet and work in her flower garden.
Bessie is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles Wiggins and one son, Clifford Eugene Wiggins.
Survivors include: 2 sons & daughters in law: Frederick Leroy & Mildred Wiggins of Shawnee, Fred & Ruby Wiggins of Eufaula; 3 daughters & 1 son in law: Virginia & Don Martin of Eufaula, Margaret Hutton of Midwest City, Jerrie Harber of Midwest City; two sisters: Ethel Thomson of Sanger, CA, Edna Sieferd of Yucca Valley, CA; 13 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren.
Funeral
services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 29, 2003, at Asa Smith
Memorial Chapel with Rev. Bill Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow
at Memory Lane Cemetery in Harrah, Oklahoma. Services are under the
direction of Smith Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, Oklahoma.
