Betty Jean Engleking, 74 to be laid to rest Friday

Betty Jean Engleking, 74, of Seymour died Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at Covered Bridge Health Campus in Seymour.

The funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Voss Funeral Chapel in Seymour with the Rev. Frank Holt officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 12:30 p.m. until service time Friday. Burial will be at Cana Cemetery in Marion Township, Jennings County.

Mrs. Engleking was a homemaker. She also worked as a waitress at the Maid-Rite and the Colony Chef. She attended Seymour Community Church.

The daughter of Newell B. and Ella Mackey Carr, she was born in Jackson County. She married Kenneth W. Engleking on Aug. 26, 1950, in Seymour.

Survivors include a daughter, Ella Jean Engleking; two sons, Kenneth W. Engleking Jr. and Rex Allen Engleking; two sisters, Ella Pickeron and Marilyn Terry; four brothers, Benjamin, Eddie, Harold and Max Carr; nine grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister; Joy Carr; and two brothers; John Carr and David Carr.

Memorials may be made to Seymour Community Church.
