Carl Vernon Reid, 86, a longtime Mentor resident, passed away December 14, 2016 at Concord Village Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born August 14, 1930 in Kansas City, Missouri. He owned and operated Fiberlite Camper Sales in Mentor for many years with his brother. He was an avid car collector who loved going to flea markets, taking trips to Key Largo, Florida in his RV, collecting antique cars and trucks and taking them to area car shows.

Survivors are his wife, Bess S. Reid; children, Joyce (Allen) Hayes, Ardith Reid and Joni (Daniel) Evans; and three step children. He is also survived by many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Vernon Reid and Fern Allen Reid; son, George Allen Reid; daughter, Tamara Reid; brother, Lester William Reid; granddaughter, Rebekah Evans; and his first wife, Vivian Rich Reid.
