Chancy Raymon Cowell 86, of Bloomfield, passed away at 4:45 p.m. Thursday, February 2, 2006 at the Hospitality House in Bloomington. Born June 30, 1919 in Kokomo, Indiana, he was the son of Clayton R. and Katherine (Kinsley) Cowell.

He built and operated the Light House Truck Stop in Bloomfield from the 1950's - 1960's. He was a member of the Switz City Christian Church and was a pilot who enjoyed flying. He was also a school bus driver for Switz City schools. S

urvivors include: three sons, Charles Roger Cowell of Bloomfield, Daniel and his wife Angela Cowell of Solsberry, and David and his wife Joyce of Evansville; one step daughter, Wilma and her husband William Helms of Bloomfield; six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one great, great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. He was prceded in death by his parents, his 1st wife Dola Mae (Pruett) Cowell on April 18, 1975, his 2nd wife, Mary Jane Page (Harp) Cowell on February 11, 1998, one infant daughter, Carol Rita, three sisters, Thelma Heaton, Mavis Croxford, and Monna Harris, one infant sister, and one infant brother.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday February 7, 2006 at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Chris Gehring officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Chapel Cemetery.
