Obituary - Clarence Elvin Herrin
The funeral for Clarence E. Herrin, Jr., 89, was Friday April 29, 2016 at
Oakwood Christian Church in Enid officiated by Rev. Alan Seibel and Rev.
Eric Keller. Burial followed at Roselawn Cemetery in Mulhall under the
direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.
Clarence was born at Bison on February 15, 1927 to Clarence E. and Florence
E. Brown Herrin and died Tuesday April 26, 2016 at Golden Oaks Nursing Home
in Enid.
He graduated from Pioneer High School and Johnson Bible College of
Knoxville, Tennessee in 1959.
He married Vinnie Beatrice (Bea) McNeil east of Bison on September 3, 1946.
He served in the US Navy in WWII. Clarence was a member of the American
Legion and Oakwood Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife Bea of the home; five daughters Nancy Connatser
and husband Bill of Muse, Oklahoma, Reah Callaway and husband John of
Hodgen, Oklahoma, Elane Crosby and husband Paul of Tulsa, Debbie Scoles and
husband Wyatt, Beth Berkenbile and husband Jimmy, all of Hennessey; one
brother Dwaine Herrin of Shellknob, Missouri; one nephew Dr. Brent Herrin of
Cassville, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren Bryan Connatser, Phillip
Connatser, Audry Steelman, Christopher Peck, Chandra McMullin, Rhesa Storms,
Alyssa Hart, Carissa Miller, Kara McMillian, Kristi Simunek, Nathan Scoles,
Summer Munroe, Joseph Berkenbile, Autumn Blackburn; and thirty-seven
great-grandchildren.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew.
Memorial donations may be made in his name to the Johnson Bible College
Clarence and Bea Herrin Preaching Permanent Scholarship Fund with the
funeral home serving as custodian of the fund.
