Clayton Albert Jennings, 26, of Gurdon, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, in Baptist Health Medical Center-Arkadelphia.

He was born July 12, 1985, in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, the son of James Billy Jennings and Clarice Ann Engleking Jennings. He attended Bethlehem Baptist Church, and he attended Gurdon High School. He worked as a logger.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Albert Engleking, Georgiann Smith Curb, Billy Jennings and Cora Ann Peterson.

Clayton was a lover of sports and music. He was that cool, true country boy who had a great sense of humor and never met a stranger. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

On January 1, 2009, Clayton married the love of his life, Brandi. His greatest joy in life was being daddy to Logan and Kailey. Family, as well as friends, will miss his quiet strength, smile and love, but will never forget his true southern spirit and loyalty. He lived life to the fullest, and there was never a dull moment when Clayton was around.

In his 26th season, Clayton surrendered his soul on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Baptist Health Medical Center; and now he is present with the Lord.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Albert Engleking, Georgiann Smith Curb; paternal grandparents, Billy Jennings and Cora Ann Peterson.

He leaves his precious memories with his wife, Brandi Hammonds Jennings; his two children, Logan James Jennings and Kailey Nicole Jennings, of Gurdon; his father, James Billy Jennings, of Gurdon; his mother and stepfather, Clarice Ann Engleking Jennings and Jack Lambert, of Donaldson; three sisters, Brandy Jennings and Ashley Beavers, both of Whelen Springs, and Trudy Calley, of Gurdon; two stepbrothers, Roudy Lambert and Cody Lambert, of Green Forest; his grandparents, Buren Curb of Ida Bell, Okla., and Martha Engleking of Bartlesville, Okla.; his father- and mother-in-law, William and Brenda Hammonds, of Gurdon; his brothers-in-law, Jason Hammonds, Roger Hammonds and Jeremy Hammonds, all of Gurdon.

Graveside and committal services for Mr. Jennings will be held at noon on Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, in Easley Cemetery with the Rev. Maurice Dickey officiating.
