LAVINDER, Clyde D.
Clyde D. Lavinder, of Roanoke, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2003. He was preceded in death by his mother, Viola Turman Lavinder.

Mr. Lavinder was a Vietnam veteran and retired from American Electric Power Company. He was a member of the Star City Hunt Club, Trout Unlimited, and the Isaac Walton League.

Surviving is his wife, Charlotte C. Lavinder; daughter, Karen L. Wood, Roanoke; parents, Taylor and Jewell Lavinder, Martinsville; brothers, Larry (Becky) Lavinder, Henry, Va., Rev. Lynwood (Roslyn) Lavinder, Belmont, N.C., Carl (Linda) Lavinder, Martinsville; special cousin, Richard Lavinder, Vinton.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Heart Association, 4504 Starkey Road, Suite 115, Roanoke, Va. 24015. A memorial service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2003, in the Roselawn Burial Park Chapel, Martinsville, Va., by the Rev. Jim Alsop and the Rev. Lynwood Lavinder. The family will receive friends following the memorial service. Arrangements by Simpson-Tharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center. 366-0707
