Obituary - Della Lou (Kelley) Kutch
Illness of Several Months Fatal to Mrs. W. H. Kutch
The Wellington Leader - Mrs. W. H. Kutch of Kelley community died Sunday,
September 1, at 9:10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Hospital. She had been in failing
health through the spring and summer months.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church,
Wellington, with the Rev. Bill Hendricks of Fort Worth and the Rev. Russell
Pogue, Wellington, officiating. Burial was in North Wellington cemetery
under the direction of Kelso Funeral Home.
Pall bearers, all neighbors and life-long friends, were Tom Birchfield, J.
W. White, Lee White, Austin White, Bob Hightower and Walter Camp.
Mrs. Kutch was the former Della Lou Kelley, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T.
J. Kelley, one of the first families to settle in the Kelley community. She
was born there January 6, 1901. Later she lived in Wheeler county, and was
married at Wheeler to W. H. Kutch on July 20, 1925.
Devoted first of all to her family, Mrs. Kutch was known for her qualities
as a mother and as a homemaker. She was especially intererested in seeing
that her children received the education each desired.
In her home community she was valued as a neighbor, and known for her help
in cases of illness or with those who were unfortunate.
Mrs. Kutch was a long-time member of South Baptist Church, Dodson.
Surviving Mrs. Kutch are her husband; four sons and three daughters: Clay
Kutch and Hugh Kutch of Glendale, Calif.; Lt. Don Kutch of Ft. Benning, Ga.;
Thomas Kutch of Rule; Mrs. Louise Vinson of El Paso; Mrs. Mary Alice Holland
of Wellington; Mrs. Mary Shumate of Reno, Nev.
She also has four brothers and a sister: Mrs. O. T. Gordon, Wellington; Ward
Kelley of San Leandro, Calif.; Clyde Kelley of Wheeler; Floyd Kelley of Dove
Creek, Colorado; and Clayton Kelley of Borger. There are five grandchildren.
