Aberdeen - Memorial service for Diana Rae Turgeon-Bordeaux, 60, of Aberdeen will be 10 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at Sandoz's Chapel of the Pines at Valentine, Neb. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery at Valentine.

She died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004, at her home. Diana Rae Turgeon, daughter of Clinton Ray and Beulah (LaGrande) Turgeon was born Sept. 11, 1944, at Idabel, Okla. When she was 4 years old, her family returned to the Rosebud, S.D., area. She attended Rosebud School and graduated as Valedictorian from Todd County High School, where she was also the Homecoming Queen. She then attended the University of South Dakota at Vermillion receiving her Bachelors Degree in Sociology and her Masters in Social Work. She worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs at Rosebud as a social worker. In 1984, she moved to Aberdeen and was a contract specialist at Bureau of Indian Affairs. In 1994, she retired.

She was united in marriage to William Bordeaux on Sept. 11, 1997, at Aberdeen. Diana enjoyed craft work, crocheting and beadwork. She loved to sew and quilt. Spending time outside was always wonderful as she enjoyed fishing and hunting. She was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Aberdeen and a former member of Church of Jesus at Rosebud.

Survivors include her husband of Aberdeen, her mother, Beulah Turgeon of Mission, S.D. and six stepchildren, William Bordeaux, Jr., Christiaan Barrera and Nannette Antoine, all of Mission, Adelita Guerue of Winnebago, Neb., Dominic Barrera of St. Francis, S.D. and Pierre Barrera of Santa Fe, Neb. Her father preceded her in death. The family prefers memorials to North Plains Hospice, 305 S. State St., Aberdeen, SD 57401. Carlsen Funeral Home and Crematory of Aberdeen have been entrusted with arrangements.
