Mr. Donald L. Ruddick, 78, of Seymour, passed away at 3:22 PM, Sunday, February 28th, 2010 at Seton Specialty Center of St. Vincents, Indianapolis, IN.

Don was born in Seymour, IN on May 2, 1931, the son of Lawrence "Bud" and Violet L. (Rich) Ruddick.

On August 16, 1952 in Denver, Colorado, he married Carolyn Maxine Johnson, who survives.

Don was a 50 plus year member of First Baptist Church, Seymour. He served in the Korean War as an Army combat medic, where he received a bronze star. He retired from Reliance Electric in Columbus in 1993, after 34 years of service. Don was a lifetime member of the VFW and a past commander of the American Legion. He was an avid NASCAR fan, liked motorcycles and being on his computer. His great joy was being with his grandchildren.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Tony Rudd Ruddick, Deborah Kay (Danny) Fleetwood, Richard "Rick" Ruddick, Trina Michele (Greg) Roark; 15 grandchildren, Toni, David, Tracy, Tara, Dustin, Brandy, Brittney, Logan, Brianna, Sierra, Kierra, Joseph, Michele, Darian, Michael; 6 great grandchildren; 6 step great grandchildren; and special niece, Stacy Perry.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Sandy Hatton.

Funeral Services will take place at Voss Chapel on Thursday, March 4, at 10:30 AM with
Rev. Bruce Cochran officiating.

Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour with full military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour. There will be a Voss Dove release.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00-8:00 PM and on Thursday from 9:30 AM until time of service.
