DONALD W. MCFARLAND, 74 MACHESNEY PARK - Donald W. McFarland, 74, of
Machesney Park, died peacefully in his sleep at 10:34 a.m. Friday, Oct.
19, 2007, in his home.
Born April 8, 1933, in Ramsey, son of James Edward and Mae Mc-Farland. Married Lizzie Mae in 1955 in Oklahoma City. Don lived in the Rockford area for 52 years, coming from Ramsey. Retired as a machinist from Rockwell International after 34 years of employment. Member of Peace Lutheran Church, Loves Park, for the past 20 years. Don enjoyed attending church services, going out to dinner and looking at photographs with his family.
Survivors include children, Sherry McFar-land of Colorado, Lisa Pooley of Rockford and John (Jorene) McFarland of Machesney Park; grandchildren, Nicholas and Jessica Pooley, Ashley and John Mc-Farland; sister, Irene (Mel) Lozier of Decatur; sister-in-law, June McFarland; brother-in-law, John (Betty) Daniel.
Predeceased by parents; and wife, Lizzie. Services at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, in Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Road; visitation from 1 p.m. until service Monday. Pastor Tim Gumm of Peace Lutheran Church will officiate. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
