Obituary - Dorothy Ann (Williams) Hatfield

BEDFORD — Dorothy Ann Hatfield, 81, Bedford, died at 3:25 a.m. Sunday at Westview Nursing Center in Bedford.

Born May 29, 1926, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Herbert Edgar and Lottie (Roberts) Williams. She married Oren Dale Hatfield on July 19, 1947, and he survives.

She was a teacher's aide and reading tutor at Englewood Elementary School, and volunteered at the Bedford Public Library as an adult reading tutor.

She taught Sunday School for a total of over 30 years at the Englewood and Liberty Baptist churches. She was a member of Englewood Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Oren Dale Hatfield, Bedford; sons: James Dale Hatfield and wife Denise (Young), Timothy Lew Hatfield and fiancee´Rebecca French, all of Bedford; and David Lee Hatfield and wife Elizabeth (Ryan) of Camby; daughters: Sandra Gail Hatfield and husband Ron Mundell of Terre Haute and Brenda Sue Adams and husband Jim of Coos Bay, Ore.; brother, Richard A. Williams of Bloomington; cousins: Josephine (Williams) Carpenter of Bedford and Frances (Williams) Pfister of Virginia; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Nancy Ellen Williams; and two brothers: Herbert Arthur Williams and Robert Dale Williams.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Englewood Baptist Church with the Rev. David Ferry officiating. Burial will be in Cresthaven Memory Gardens.
