Mrs. Dorothy (Dot) Belle Wills Harr, age 92, of Blountville, TN went to be with her Lord, Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Bristol Regional Medical Center. 

She was born on September 15, 1926 in Greene Co., TN, the daughter of Marion Washington Wills and Claudia Belle Lawson Wills. 

Dot was the wife of Clarence D. Harr (deceased) and the mother of an infant daughter, Donna Lynn (deceased) and son, Michael Edwin (deceased) killed in action in Vietnam. Dot held very close to her heart being a “Gold Star Mother.” 

She was the ninth child in a family of ten. Her siblings are all deceased. Brothers: Lloyd, Robert, Clarence, Jesse, Roscoe and Glen Wills. Sisters: Ruby Willett, Viola Barger, and Wanda Hensley. 

After her marriage to Clarence, Dot’s family doubled in size with nine more siblings. Survivors include her in-laws: Lucille Winegar (Grove deceased), Williard Harr (Jerrie deceased), Betty Harr (Herman deceased), Virginia Harr (Dale deceased), Sue Wagner (Fred deceased), Wayne Harr and wife, Vivian, Becky Harr (Jerry deceased), and Charles Mays and wife, Ann. She is also survived by many precious nieces and nephews from both families. 

During her high school days, Dot moved from Greenville to Blountville where she lived with her sister, Viola and brother-in-law, Jack Barger. She attended Blountville High School and during this time met Clarence, her future husband. She graduated in 1945 and they were married in 1946. After Clarence enlisted in the Navy, Dot joined him in San Diego, CA, where both of their children were born. 

After returning from California, Dot became a member of the Blountville Presbyterian Church. Her church was so important in her family’s life. Her working career included various secretarial positions, and she retired from the Sullivan County Health Dept. 

Dot loved life. Her faith never faltered regardless of what she faced. She will be truly missed by her family and friends. 

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, September 29, 2018 in Akard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brad Palmer officiating. Burial will follow in Blountville Cemetery. The family can come for a private viewing between 12:30 P.M. - 1:15 P.M., Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.
