HOLDENVILLE Oklahoman, The (Oklahoma City, OK) - Tuesday, August 11, 2015

------------------------------

Dorothy May Kegin, age 80, of Harrah, OK, was born on June 11, 1935, northeast of Norman, OK, in Cleveland County. She was the daughter of Roy & Minnie Gill. She went to be with her Lord on Sunday, August 9, 2015, in Harrah, OK.

Dorothy graduated from Norman High School in 1953, and was married to Oscar Thomas Kegin, June 2, 1955. To this union were born two sons, Gregory Lyle Kegin and Glen Thomas Kegin, and one adopted daughter, Cheri Lynee Kegin Luciano.

She worked in the office at Greenville College, Greenville, Illinois for two years while her husband finished college there. They then began pastoring Free Methodist Churches for the next seventeen years, including the cities of Guthrie, Stillwater and a rural church near Carmen, Oklahoma, and on North MacArthur St., in Warr Acres. In 1974, she and her family moved to Moundridge Kansas, where she was high school secretary and bookkeeper until 1985 when Parkinson's disease required her to retire.

Dorothy was a devoted wife, loving mother, and meticulous home keeper. All who ever knew her loved her, even in later years when disease had claimed much of her personality, people were drawn to her. Her greatest disappointment was that she was never able to get down on the floor and play with her grandchildren. None of them ever knew her when she was healthy and strong.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister, Miriam Glee Gill, a sister, Anita Faye Cox and a brother, Leon Gill.

Services will be held 1:00 PM, Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at the Free Methodist Church, Midwest City, OK. Interment will follow at Blackburn Cemetery, Franklin, OK.
