Obituary - Eldon Russell Hotle
Eldon Russell Hotle, 85, of Indianapolis, passed away October 17, 2013.
He was born March 31, 1928, in Bedford, IN, a son of Rev. Elvin F. Hotle and
Corda Andis Hotle.
He was a member of Archdale Church of the Nazarene, Archdale, NC.
Eldon attended Trevecca Nazarene University, a graduate of Southern Wesleyan
University. A retired ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene, he held
pastorates in Nashville, TN, Waynesboro, Richmond and Staunton, VA, Eden,
NC, Elkin, NC, Florence, AL and Tifton, GA. In addition he retired from AT&T
in Greensboro, NC.
He was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army, in Korea from 1951-1953, serving as a
Chaplain's Assistant.
Eldon was married May 23, 1953 to the former Rebecca Hege, who survives.
Also surviving, a son, Mark Hotle of Lenexa, KS, a son, Dan (Esther) Hotle
of Fishers, IN; grandsons, Matthew and Andrew; granddaughters, Megan, Molly
and Bethany; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Bonnie (Bob) Weinmann,
of Indianapolis, IN.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Edward,
Floyd and Rev. Ray Hotle; grandson, Michael Hotle; and daughter-in-law, Debi
Hotle.
Eldon's real joy was his music, playing the piano and organ, helping his
neighbors and visiting shut-ins.
Funeral services will be at J.C. Green & Sons in Thomasville, NC with
interment at Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church Cemetery, Thomasville, NC.
