Obituary - Eleanor Ruth (Stratton) Such
Eleanor R. Larson Such (April 21, 1939 - March 8, 2014)
Eleanor Ruth Larson Such, 74, died peacefully in Port Angeles on March 8,
2014.
She was born April 21, 1939, in Seattle, Washington, to George William
Stratton and Gail Loraine Belleman.
When the U.S. entered World War II, the family moved to Quilcene, where she
attended Quilcene schools. She also studied at Peninsula College.
In 1956, she married Douglas V. Larson and moved to Port Townsend.
In 1970, she married Robert J. Such.
Eleanor was employed many years as a chef for Head Start, the Jefferson
County jail and the senior nutrition program.
Eleanor was very talented when it came to textiles and crafts. She was an
excellent seamstress, and she loved to knit, crochet, embroider and create
any other project that caught her eye.
She was a 4-H leader for more than 15 years, supporting her children and
others in several 4-H programs. She was also a doll collector for many years
and was active in the local doll club.
She also loved hiking, snowshoeing, bike riding and walking her little dog.
Eleanor loved animals, and we were lucky to have cats, dogs and horses in
our lives.
Eleanor is survived by her loving children, Debra (Daniel) Branigan, Tami
(Floyd) Baumunk, Denise Reandeau, Doug (Kathy) Larson and Robin (Jesse)
Stern;; her former husbands, Doug and Robert;; her grandchildren, Nicholas
(Abby) Branigan, Daniel (Shawna) Branigan, Michael Branigan, Troy Baumunk,
Jolene Baumunk, Clarice Reandeau, Brandon Reandeau, Logan Larson, Brittany
Larson, Garrid Larson, Lukas Cox, Tristan Cox and Jesse Stern;; sister
Sandra Putaansuu;; cousins Dick (Esther) Mosier and Janet (Ralph) Shaw;; six
great-grandchildren;; and several nieces and nephews.
Her beloved dog, Jasper, also survives.
We also want to acknowledge her dear and lifelong friends who loved her.
