Obituary - Ellis Earvin Worley
Ellis Earvin Worley, age 83, of Bristol, VA passed away on Sunday,
December 4, 2011 at Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was a member of the Valley Lodge#93 for 49 years, a member of Jericho
Shrine Temple and attended Shiloh Freewill Baptist Church. He was a loving
husband, father and grandfather.
He was employed by Valleydale for 33 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Elizabeth Goins Worley;
two sisters, Betty Worley Eads and Stella Worley Eads and his brother,
Roosevelt Worley.
Survivors include his wife, Iva Eads Worley; two daughters, Thresea Worley
Barb and husband, Nick V. Barb, Jr. and Kathy Worley Vasquez and husband,
Fred J. Vasquez, all of Bristol, VA; four grandchildren, Travis Barb and
wife, Yvonne; Monica Vasquez Smith and husband, John; Bradley S. Vasquez and
Jason Barb and wife, Tasha; four great-grandchildren, Kayla Wright, Nathan
Barbour; Shawn Barb and Savannah Barb and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be sent to the Shriner’s Children Hospital, 2900 Rocky Point
Dr., Tampa, FL, 33607
The funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 7,
2011 in Akard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roger Ball officiating. The
committal service and interment will be at 11:00 A.M., Thursday at Mountain
View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Travis Barb, Jason Barb, Bradley Vasquez,
John Smith, Daniel Mitchell, Rick Eads, Dwayne Eads and Jeff Eads. Honorary
pallbearers will be Fred Vasquez, Harvey Eads, Nick V. Barb, Jr., Allen
Cullop and Sterling Cullop. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00
P.M., Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
