Erma Evelyn McCroskey Stewart
Erma Evelyn McCroskey Stewart, age 94, of Bristol, Tenn., went to be with
the Lord on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at her home.
She was born June 4, 1922 in Washington County, Va., a daughter of the late
Olaf Garland and Blanche Nunley McCroskey. Erma was a lifelong resident of
the Bristol area. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by
her husband, J.T. “Shorty” Stewart; two daughters, Lisa Stewart and Tronie
Fleenor; sister, Geneva McCroskey; and brother, Olaf Garland McCroskey Jr.
She was preceded in death by her precious poodle “Jake.”
She is survived by her daughter, Genevieve Dillow; grandchildren, Teri
Peloquin and husband Jay, April Dillow and wife Heather, Tanya Kee and
husband Bill, and Kim Fleenor; great grandchildren, Ray and Josh Roberts,
Elliot and Emerson Fitz-Dillow, Clif, Stewart , Zach, and Caleb Kee ;
great-great grandchildren, Hailey, Macy, and Emma Roberts, Gabe Kee; niece,
Clara Williams; and nephews, Tony, Wayne and Michael Stophel.
The funeral service will be held 8 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2016 in the Weaver
Funeral Home Chapel with Tom Edwards officiating. The family will receive
friends from 6 until 7:45 p.m. prior to the service. The entombment will be
held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Glenwood Mausoleum. The family would
like to say a special thanks to Bill and Diane Stewart, Ann Gray, and
Amedisys Hospice for their care.
