 Ernestine Helen <I>Currier</I> Potter

Ernestine Helen Potter, 90, of Elk City, Oklahoma was born on September 29, 1927 in Breckenridge, Texas to Claud Henry and Emma Ruth (Burnett) Currier. She went to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in Elk City, Oklahoma, surrounded by her loving family.

Ernestine enjoyed fishing, gardening, sewing, and visiting with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed going to church and singing in the choir, as she was an active member of the Eastside Baptist Church since 1955.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 13, 2018 at the Eastside Baptist Church in Elk City, Oklahoma. Pastor Chris Carlisle will officiate. Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Elk City, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to the care of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home in Elk City, Oklahoma.

Cherishing her memory are her three sons, James Potter and his wife, Judy of Elk City, Oklahoma, Robert Potter and his wife, Katherine of Elk City, Oklahoma, John Potter of Elk City, Oklahoma; four daughters, Carol Potter and her husband, Paul JonJak of Lafayette, Colorado, Debra Gholston of Elk City, Oklahoma, Errol Ruth Grossman and her husband, Kim of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Margaret DeMauro and her husband, Bill of Mission Viejo, California; one sister-in-law, Jolene Currier of Leedey, Oklahoma; fourteen grandchildren; Donna Jay of Dallas, Texas, Jason Potter of Charleston, South Carolina, Autumn Hoskins of Pensacola, Florida, Tammy Cape of Elk City, Oklahoma, Jamie Forrester of Elk City, Oklahoma, Jeremiah Grossman of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Lesley Brown of Elk City, Oklahoma, Jeanene Spradlin of Del City, Oklahoma, Stephen Ralls of Gunbarrel, Colorado, Zachary Grossman of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Kambra Potter of Los Angeles, California, Joshua Ralls of Puyallup, Washington, Ryan Potter of Elk City, Oklahoma, and Billy DeMauro of Mission Viejo, California; nineteen great-grandchildren,; Nick Jay, Tyler Potter, Mark Potter, Caitlyn Gilliland, Lacey Frost, Landie Forrester, Bryson Frost, Blaine Frost, Rusty Forrester, Victoria Grossman, Lilly Grossman, Alexis Hoskins, Andrew Hoskins, Kaleb Hoskins, Harlan Spradlin, Salem Ralls, Lilly Ralls, Lucas Ralls, and Riley Ralls; five great-great-grandchildren, Shelby Lynn Jay, Chloe Salinas, Carter Gilliland, Ryker Salinas, and Copelyn Gilliland; numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John “Jack” Coville Potter; parents, Claud Henry and Emma Ruth Currier; one brother, Ernest Currier; one infant grandson, Robert Heath Potter; one brother-in-law, Robert “Bob” Potter and his wife, Nola Potter Hunt; two sisters, Ruth Dye and her husband, Roy, Jewel Patterson and her husband, John; son-in-law, Robert “Toot” Gholston.
