Ethelene Hiler Clarke BRISTOL, Va. Ethelene Hiler Clarke, age 84, passed from this life into Heaven on Friday, April 22, 2011, from a lengthy illness in Cambridge House. The family would like to say a special thanks to the staff of Cambridge House for their loving care.

 Mrs. Clarke was employed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Washington. While employed with the F.B.I., Mrs. Clarke appeared in the movie "House on 92nd Street", starring Lloyd Noland. Mrs. Clarke majored in math at Ouachita Baptist University and was a teacher in Louisiana and Arkansas. Mrs. Clarke also served as a pastors' wife for 63 years, and served as a Southern Baptist missionary in Brazil and South Africa.

While conducting a Scotland crusade, the Rev. and Mrs. Clarke were honored with a reception by Sir Cyril Black, M.P. in London, England. Mrs. Clarke was also a licensed pilot from the West Memphis Akansas flying school. She was preceded in death by a son, Jonathan Clarke; and parents, Allen K. and Bethel Pope Hiler.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, the Rev. Lewis Clarke; and two sons, David Clarke, of Greeneville, Tenn. and Dwight and wife, Dr. Cynthia Clarke, of Delhi, La.; one brother, J.C. Hiler and wife, Gladys, of Charlotte, N.C.; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Ball, of Shelby, N.C., and Mrs. Anna Bell Townsend, of Bristol Tennessee; one sister-in-law, Peggy Dye; two nieces, Karen Dye and Terry Parks, of Bristol Virginia, Janet Linkous, Susan Tench, Teresa Cody, Deanna Snyder, Elaine Freitag and Sandra Hiler; nephew, Jerry Ball; one grandson, Brian Clarke, of Kingsport, Tenn.; three granddaughters, Chelsey and husband, Ryan Marshall, of Lafayette, La., Mallory Clarke, of Delhi, and Kimberly Thompson, of Brunswick, Ga.; three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held Monday, April 25, 2011, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Euclid Avenue Baptist Church with funeral services to follow at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Eric Godfrey and Pastor Bob Jones officiating. Eulogy will be given by the Rev. Lewis Clarke,David Clarke and Dwight Clarke. Music will be provided by Robert Shuttle, of Bristol Virginia and Jimmy Strong of Delhi. Entombment will follow Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at 10 a.m. at Mountain View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Arnold Mellinger, Dean Booher, Sheriff Fred Newman, Brian Clarke, Dr. Mike Gaultney and Jimmy Strong. Honorary pallbearers are Lee Roberts, Gene Moser, Harvey Spence, Larry Murray, Hiram Taylor and Marion Dugger. Memorials may be made to the Euclid Ave. Baptist Church, Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, 900 Euclid Ave., Bristol, VA. 24201.  Akard Funeral Home, 1912 W.
