BOWERS, FAYETTA GLADYS (Age 89)

On Thursday, October 14, 2004, FAYETTA GLADYS BOWERS, of Adelphi, MD.

 Mrs. Bowers was born in Huron, SD.

She was a 1933 graduate of Omaha Nebraska Tech High School. She retired after 29 years of service as an Executive Secretary for the Federal Government. She was a member of the Eastern Star and served as Martha Star Point. She was a world traveler who had a passion for ballroom dancing and won several national competitions. She enjoyed arts and crafts including knitting, crocheting and sewing. She was a member of the Hillandale Baptist Church, where she was the founder and organizer of the Crisis Prayer Chain.

Beloved wife of the late Wallace D. Bowers; loving mother of Janet (Richard) Logan; cherished grandmother of Elizabeth (Theodore) Marks and Dr. Christopher (Nancy) Clagett; and great-grandmother of six.

On Sunday, October 17, family and friends will be gathering from 6 to 8 p.m. at HINES-RINALDI FUNERAL HOME, INC., 11800 New Hampshire Ave., Silver Spring, MD. On Monday, October 18 at 11 a.m., funeral services will be held at Hillandale Baptist Church, 2601 Powder Mill Rd., Adelphi, Md.

Interment Parklawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Samaritan's Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone NC 28607.
