Francis “Frank” Scott, age 82, of Horace, ND, died Monday, September 27, 2021, at Sanford Health, Fargo.

Francis Paul Scott was born February 21, 1939, at Brinsmade, ND, the son of Joseph Paul and Brada (Sargent) Scott.  He grew up at Brinsmade and graduated from Leeds (ND) High School in 1957.  Frank attended NDSSS at Wahpeton, ND prior to entering the US Army.   He was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany where he worked as an x-ray technician.  He was Honorably discharged April of 1962, but later entered the Naval Reserve and Marine Corps Reserve.

On June 30, 1962, Francis was united in marriage to Florence Thoennes at Urbank, MN.  They moved to Grand Forks, ND, where two sons were born to them, Greg & Kenny.   Frank was employed as an x-ray tech at St. Michael’s Hospital.   In 1964, they moved to West Fargo, ND,  and in 1978, to Horace, ND .  Frank had a 30-year career with the Veterans Administration Hospital in Fargo, first as an x-ray technician and later as a health equipment service technician.   He retired in 1995.  

Frank enjoyed gardening and also traveling with Florence.   They had traveled a lot across the US, but in 2013, became “Winter Texans” living winters at Mission, Texas.   He was a member of Fargo BPOE #260 and the Motor Patrol, a life member of West Fargo VFW Post #7564 and the Cooties.   Frank was also a member of the Masons, the El Zagal Shrine and Provost. 

He is survived by his loving wife Florence; two sons Greg (Carla) and Kenny, both of Horace, ND; five grandchildren: Brandon Scott, Jennifer Scott, Kristin Scott, Ashley (Brian) Benz and Katie (Matt) Poulson; twelve great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Charlene Scott, Barron, Wisconsin.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Virgil, Ernest, and Lloyd.
