ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. — Frank Coburn Ely, 82, of Rock Springs died Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Deseret Health and Rehab in Rock Springs. 

He was born July 1, 1930, in Farmington, Missouri, the son of Henry Raymond Ely and Mildred Gladys Coburn Ely. He attended schools at Iron Mountain and Ironton High School in Missouri. 

He married Mary Lee Sikes in 1950 in Farmington. They were later divorced. He married Shirley Ann Dusel Carter on March 22, 1985. 

He was a member of the Sashay Pardners Square Dance Club. 

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. 

Frank painted for several companies for 12 years before starting his own business. He also did maintenance in Sweetwater County and Salt Lake City, and then maintenance for 10 years with the LDS Church. He finished his working career at Walmart for many years until 2010. 

His interests were singing gospel music with a quartet for 17 years, auctioneering, telling stories, hunting, fishing and traveling. 

Survivors include his wife Shirley Ely of Rock Springs; son Randy Joe Ely of Park Hills, Mo.; step-son Bernard Carter and wife Robin of Anthem, Arizona; daughters Susan Lynn Hopkins and husband Mike, and Donna Kay Burns all of Farmington, Mo.; step-daughters Ginny Koshar and husband Tom, and Shelly Johnson and husband Blaine all of Rock Springs, and Tracy Nelson and husband Dave of Rock Springs; sister Letty Huff of Clearwater, Kansas; sister-in-laws Joyce Ely of Farmington, Mo., Edna Dusel of Pompano Beach, Florida, and Julie Dusel of Dallas, Wisconsin, Leah McBride of Phoenix, Arizona; brother-in-laws, Ken Speers of Cottonwood, Utah; 21 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Mildred Ely; brothers Melvin, Henry Jr. and Howard; brother-in-laws Eugene Huff, Henry Whipple, Jim Dusel, Leonard Dusel, and John McBride; sister-in-laws Lula Ely, Lois Speers, Beth Dusel. 

Cremation will take place at Fox Crematory, Rock Springs. 

Memorial services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at the Rock Springs LDS Stake Center, 2055 Edgar, Rock Springs. Local memorial services will be held at New Beginnings Worship Centre on the corner of D & O Highways in Farmington, Saturday, March 23 at 2:00 p.m.
