Garnet J. 'Dolly' Kistler 1924-2016

Garnet J. "Dolly" Kistler, age 91, of Huntington, died at 7:48 a.m. Tuesday (March 1, 2016) at Miller's Merry Manor in Huntington. 

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1190 W. Huntington County Road 500 North, Huntington, with Bishop Tim Barnes officiating. Burial will be in Estates of Serenity in Marion. 

Preferred memorials are to Miller's Merry Manor, in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington, IN 46750. 

Garnet was born on March 13, 1924, in Huntington, the daughter of Carl H. and Garnet M. (Nave) Burman. She married Arthur Frank Kistler on July 4, 1942, in Marion and he preceded her in death in August of 1977. Garnet was a homemaker and loved raising her children, cooking and growing indoor plants. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Huntington. 

Survivors include two sons, Ronald G. Kistler of Huntington and Randy A. (Brenda) Kistler of Middlebury; two daughters, Diana Kilgore and Towana (Ted) Winters, both of Huntington; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brother Maurice Burman, sister Marguerite Gross and two grandsons, Tommy McClain and Shane McClain.
