Gary Grose Obituary

Gary Grose's journey in life ended June 17, 2013 at the age of 72.

He was born June 23, 1940 in Norton, KS to Wayne & Eileene (Taylor) Grose. Gary graduated from high school in 1959 from Oberlin, Kansas. On June 24, 1962, he married Deanna Laaker and has two children, Todd and Michelle.

He attended Parks Business College in Denver, then worked for Martin-Marietta until 1967. He was then employed with IBM until he took his early retirement in 1994. He then worked at Roach in Boulder and was a personal driver for a private company. Gary loved life, he loved being with family and friends. He loved to joke with everyone. He loved fishing, camping, boating, bowling, basketball, playing cards and working on old Chevy vehicles. He was also an avid model railroader.

Gary is preceded in death by his father Wayne Grose, brother Terry, father & mother-in-law Hank & Flora Laaker and brother-in-law Merald Van Vleet.

Gary is survived by his wife Deanna of Berthoud, CO, son Todd Grose of Longmont, CO and daughter Michelle Kessler, husband Dan, of Fredrick, CO, his mother Eileene Grose, sisters Cheryl Metcalf, husband Sid and Pam VanVleet all of Oberlin, KS and Kim McConville, husband Mark of Indianola, NE, brother-in-law John Laaker, wife Joyce of Berthoud, grandchildren Savanna Grose, fiancé Chris Tafoya, Morgan Grose and Sunie Kessler and great-granddaughter Ashlynn Tafoya, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many many friends,

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, June 21, 2013 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Cremation entrusted to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Memorial contributions may be made to the Longmont United Hospital Foundation for the therapy pool in care of Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
