Obituary - Glennys Irene (Schmit) Pacsmag
Glennys Irene Pacsmag passed away on May 30th, 2005. Glennys was born on December 25th, 1919 in Toledo, Washington, the only child of Arthur and Hattie Schmit.
Glennys graduated from Toledo High School and from Washington State
University where she received her B.A. in Home Economics. Glennys taught in
Toledo for a short time before moving to Napavine where she taught home
economics and other classes for nineteen years. Glennys married Donald
Pacsmag in 1949. The couple spent most of their married life on a small farm
in Napavine. Glennys baked delicious bread and pastries of all kinds, and
she loved to sew. She was a long-time 4-H leader, food judge for many fairs
in S.W. Washington, and treasurer for 4-H youth programs.
Glennys was a devoted daughter, wife and mother. Her daughter Peggy Hearn
and husband Dan reside in Napavine, and her daughter Jeri Hess and husband
Scott reside in Centralia. Glennys’ daughter-in-law Kitty DeThomas of
Napavine also survives her. Glennys has five grandchildren, Holli Hearn
McGarrah (and husband, Michah) of Kulm, North Dakota, Jeremy Hearn of
Chehalis, Megan and Jordan Hess of Centralia, and Dean DeThomas (and wife,
Krisiti) of Napavine. Glennys also has five great grandchildren: Wesley,
Cole and Presley McGarrah, and Kayla and Osten DeThomas.
In Glennys’ memory, a Celebration of Life Picnic Potluck will be held on Sunday, June 5th from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the home of Scott and Jeri Hess, 2309 Cooks Hill Road, Centralia. All friends and family are invited. The family requests that memorials to the Lewis County 4-H Scholarship Fund at Lewis County Extension, 351 NW North St., MS: AES01, Chehalis, be considered as an alternative to flowers or gifts.
