Obituary - Gregory E Roberts
Gregory E. Roberts Jr., 25, of Terre Haute, lost his lifelong battle with diabetes and passed away at 3:39 a.m. Monday, Sept. 20, 2010, at Union Hospital. He was born Feb. 28, 1985, to Gregory E. Roberts and Sherry Ann Hayes Roberts.
Survivors include his children, son, Kayden Foltz, and daughter, Madison Roberts; his mother and stepfather, Sherry and Jim Elrod Jr. of Marshall, Ill.; two brothers, Kenny Tingley of Terre Haute, and Jimmy Elrod III of West Terre Haute; a special niece/sister, Taylor Elrod; his grandmother, Carol Williams; stepgrandfather, James Elrod Sr.; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Gregory E. Roberts; a son, Aiden Roberts; a sister, Misty Elrod; and grandparents, Patricia Hayes, Paul Hayes Sr., Rod Williams, Betsy Roberts, Larry Roberts, and Lilly Elrod; and an aunt, Theresa Atterson.
He was a member of the Sons of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6574. He loved spending time with his children.
Funeral services will be noon Friday at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 N. Third St., in West Terre Haute, with the Rev. Chris Wilbur officiating. Burial will be at South Vigo Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Thursday, and prior to services Friday. Serving as pall bearers will be Jim Elrod Jr., Kenny Tingley, Jimmy Elrod III, Albert Stevens, Luc Collins, Robert Hayes, Charles Stevens, and Art Elrod. The family suggests that if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Greg Roberts Jr. Memorial Fund, to assist with expenses. The family would like to express a special thank you to Southern Care Hospice and the Union Hospital nurses for all of their wonderful care they gave him and the family.
