Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Valley Falls Cemetery in Valley Falls for H. Irene Ball, 80, Derby, formerly of Topeka, who died Friday, Aug. 10, 2001, at a Wichita hospital. She was born Jan. 18, 1921, in LeLoup in Franklin County, to Ray W. and Ada Lutter Stecher. She attended school in Baldwin and graduated from Stewart's Beauty Academy in Topeka in 1940. She was a cosmetologist in Topeka and later a bookkeeper for Fager and Ball Standard Service in Topeka. She moved to LaMesa, Calif., in 1953 and was a bookkeeper for the Mobil Oil station in LaMesa. She also was a sales associate for the Pretty and Plump Dress Shop in LaMesa. She was a member of Beulah Chapter No. 34 of Order of Eastern Star in Topeka and the Zoological Society in San Diego. She married Maurice Eugene Ball April 28, 1943. He died Dec. 31, 1995.
