Obituary - Helma Sophia (Johnson) Shellum

Funeral services for Mrs. Helma S. Shellum, 56, 1015 E. Broadway, who died Friday in a local hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Grenora. The Rev. David M. Knutson will officiate and burial will be in the Grenora cemetery.

Helma S. Johnson was born Sept. 20, 1910, at Prroroe Farm, Wis., and came to western North Dakota with her parents in 1917. They settled on a farm two miles west of Hanks where she was reared and received he education. She was married to Ocar A. Shellum on Oct. 7, 1927, at Plentywood, Mont., and they lived on a farm northwest of Grenora until 1946 when they moved into Williston. She was a member of The Lutheran Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Louis (Doris) Haugsdal, Williston; Mrs Raymond (Eileen) Champane, Belcourt, and Mrs. Orris (Dorothy) Olson, Renton, Wash.; three sons, Floyd, Williston; Reuben, Lewiston, MO., and Clarence, Seattle, Wash; 26 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Ervin (Helen), she was preceded in death be Ernest (Lillian) Beavers, Tacoma, Wash,; Mrs. Leslie (Edith) Arneson, Parshall, and Mrs. Marie Hoover, Tamcoma, Wash, and three brothers, Herman, Big Bear, Mont.; Aronald, Dagmar, Mont, and Emill, St. Paul, MN.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 9, 1954.
