Herbert P. Keilman Hammond Herbert P. Keilman, age 80, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2005.

He is survived by his three loving daughters: Deborah (Mark, Sr.) Hajduk of Munster, IN, Denise (Bill) Engle of Hammond and Dawn (John, Jr.) Flint of Hammond; one loving son, David (Cindy) Keilman of Crown Point, IN; 11 grandchildren: Mark, Jr., Phillip, James, Bonnie, Melinda, Brenda, Deidra, April, Tony, John III and Steven; 11 great grandchildren; two brothers: Jerry (Ginger) Keilman of Hammond and Keith (Pat) Keilman of Dyer, IN; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Dearest companion, Mildred Lee; also man's best friend to the end, "Alex."

Preceded in death by his loving wife, Glenna; and daughter, Diane; and son-in-law, Mark Balucki.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2005, 10 a.m. at the Burns-Kish Funeral Home, 8415 Calumet Avenue, Munster, with Deacon Tom Kreidler officiating. Burial, at St. John / St. Joseph Cemetery, Hammond. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 1 to 8 p.m.

Mr. Keilman was a retired ironworker for over 57 years in Local #395 in Hammond, past Commander of the VFW Post in Dyer and the VFW Highland Post 1109. He was past Commander of the American Legion Post 180 in Highland and was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge in Hammond. Served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a recipient of the Purple Heart and the Oak Leaf Cluster Ribbons.

Donations may be made to "Blue Sky Hospice" in Hammond in his loving memory. He will be dearly missed by his loving family and many friends.
