Obituary - Jack D Vanhook Sr
Jack Vanhook, Sr., 78, of Bristol, VA passed away Saturday, November 24,
2018 at Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was born in Washington County,
VA on September 22, 1940, a son of the late John and Ruby Moore Vanhook. In
addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother.
He had been a truck driver for over 30 years. He was a loving husband,
father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Elizabeth Vanhook;
daughter, Diane Phillips and husband Dennis; son, Jack Vanhook, Jr. and wife
Sonia; five grandchildren; one great grandson; sisters, Dot Hensley and
Violet Kilby; and several nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 27,
2018 in the Heritage Chapel of Memories at Mountain View Cemetery, Bristol,
VA with Reverend Keith Sammons and Dr. Austin Cook officiating. In lieu of
flowers, the family is requesting that donations be sent to the funeral home
to help the family with funeral expenses.
