MISHAWAKA, IN - James A. “Jimbo” Meehan, Jr., 66, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018 at his home following a brief illness.

He was born Sept. 19, 1952 in Mishawaka to the late James A. and Ruth (McGowan) Meehan and later married Terri J. Bess Lamie on Oct. 18, 2002 in Cassopolis. She survives at home.

Also surviving are children: Adam (Jamie) and Ryan (Aiko) Meehan; James (Darcy), Jackie, and Bobbie Bess; and Wendy (Mike) Prater; grandchildren: Aislyn, Abigale, Phinley, and Hannah Meehan; Chloe, Keighan, Collin, Kreedyn, Bella, Jasmine, Haleigh, Gabby, and Katie Bess; Jordan and Breydan Meyer; and Hayley and Makala Prater; brother, Danny (Pamela) Meehan; and sister, Dawn (Mike) Lowry. A brother, Neil (Vicki) Meehan, precedes him in death.

Jimbo's life will be celebrated on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018 from 4-6 pm at Billings Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Elkhart, where a service will follow on Friday, Nov. 2, 2018 at 9:00 am. Pastor Matt Poorman if the Vineyard Church in Mishawaka will officiate and burial will follow in Olive Cemetery in Elkhart.

Jimbo retired from AM General after 30 years there. He was an outdoors enthusiast and enjoyed boating, fishing, and doing just about anything on the water. He was also a devout St. Louis Cardinals and Green Bay Packers fan.
