His favourite prayer was as follows:
“Our father who art in heaven; Thou art our Creator and [my] creator, thou
dost known my in most thoughts and purposes, and my most secret deeds; Give
me this day Strength of mind, strength of heart, and strength of life. Let
thy divine presence abide with me.- Tech me purity of heart and cleanliness
of mind and body, and inspire in me the highest uses of All my faculties. In
still in me the blessedness of home life, the sweetness of home love, and
the power of home religion.- Bring me into the great light of knowledge, and
show me how to live in this world so that, when my last sleep shall come, I
my pass into a blessed immortality.”
A favourite quote by my father, (a Gnostic):
We want facts and not theories. It is better to know than to believe. Faith
is a substitute for knowledge.
A poem by my father titled; “Feeling or Go on and Worry”
Creator if you be, then all is your handy work. And I am all that I am as a
design. I can only do that which I have been created for.
Free of Worry, I must therefore be, therefore hate, lying, back biting, and
lust, even all bad must not I be. And love, and love of and for thee, and
all my friends, and family, yes love of my dreaded enemy, no more can-may
be. Yet to change me, I cannot. You alone can create me or re-do my creation
and this only after you admit your, Gods Failure, you however can, nor dare
not, not I would do such And I am man. So I am that which I am and must be.
I am me, The perfect creation of the Perfect One. So I am as you made me.
