Obituary - John Franklin DeMoss
John F. DeMoss, 55, of Bloomington, went home to be with the Lord on Monday,
March 3, 2014 at the IU Health Hospice House with his family at his side.
John was born May 21, 1958 in Bloomington and was the son of the late Frank
and Marjorie (Fortner) DeMoss. John was a drywall finisher and a member of
Northside Christian Church. He loved IU Basketball, watching his children
race, hunting mushrooms, playing golf, and any activities involving his
grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Suzanne DeMoss
of Bloomington, 4 children; John E. DeMoss (Heather), Clint DeMoss, Mariah
Sturgeon (Kyle) and Jacob "Jake" Bowman (Ashley Allgood) all of Bloomington.
Also surviving are his grandchildren, Caleb DeMoss, Ashlyn DeMoss, Alyssa
DeMoss, Lexi DeMoss, Owen Sturgeon, and Brylon Bowman, and his brothers and
sisters, James "Junior" DeMoss (Margaret Webb) of Bloomington, Claude
"Butch" DeMoss (Karen) of Stanford, Dorothy Tincher (Sam) of Bedford, Paul
DeMoss (Sally) of Solsberry and Dennis DeMoss (Donna) of Florida, father and
mother-in-law , Sonny and Bernadene Koons of Stanford, and sisters-in-law
Kara Stillions (Sam) of Bloomington and Shawna Koons of Greenwood, along
with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Charles DeMoss and
Ronnie DeMoss.
Services for John will be 11:00 Friday at Northside Christian Church, 3993
N. Prow Road, Bloomington. Pastor Glen Stidd will officiate the service and
burial will follow at Greene County Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from
4-8 pm Thursday at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third
St. Bloomington.
