John Vernon, born July 9, 1918 in Colorado Springs, Co. to Carrie and Charles Stanfield. Departed this life Dec. 22, 1993 at the age of 75. John was raised in Union, Iowa. He joined the Air Force in 1940 and retired in 1962. He served in Africa, Italy and Japan. He retired from the Postal Service, also as a Tax Auditor for the State of Oklahoma. On Sept. 8, 1945, he was united in marriage to Doris Nail Stanfield in Oklahoma City.

After retiring from the Air Force, they made their home in Midwest City and have lived there for the past 31 years. John attended the Christian Church in Union as a child and he did know the Lord Jesus as his Savior and trusted Him in time of need.

Survived by his wife, Doris of the home; a son, John M. Stanfield and wife, Martha of Edmond; daughter, Lucretia Ann Camacho of Midwest City; 4 granddaughters, Krista and Kara Stanfield of Edmond, Elizabeth and Alicia Camacho of Midwest City, Ok.; a grandson, Miguel (Michael) Camacho of Midwest City; a sister-in-law, Mary Stanfield; a nephew, Charles Stanfield, Marshalltown, Ia.; a niece, Jane Stanfield, Rochester, Mn. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and a sister. Sleep in peace. You were loved. Memorials to the First Southern Baptist Church, Del City or your favorite charity.
