Joseph Samuel Rule

It is with great sadness that the Rule family mourns the death of Joseph "Sam" Rule. He was born July 24, 1934 in Seattle, one of seven boys, the son of Wilbur and Lucille Rule. He died April 19, 2013 surrounded by his family.

He was a boarding student at Kings Garden High School and graduated early to join the Air Force in 1952. Sam then graduated from Edison Tech and became an accountant.

Sam is survived by Lois, his loving wife of 46 years; his daughter, Tina (Alan) Kinnard; daughter, Samantha (Mike) Corbin; and in Sam's words "five of the smartest most beautiful grandchildren", Amanda, Nick, Becca, Matthew and Zachary. He also has three surviving brothers, Bill,
Robert and Jack.

Sam was a loving, generous father and grandfather. Also a good friend and pretty good golfer. He worked over 20 years for Universal Services, living in Alaska for ten years, and then started his own company Golden Rule Camp Services which he ran successfully for 20 years. He was an officer for Friends of the Lynnwood Library and played bridge in many groups. Sam had a love of golf and travel, ready to go anytime, anywhere. Everyone who knew him was witness to his warmth, intelligence and generosity. His family and friends meant everything to him.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, April 28, 2013 2 p.m. at Purdy Walters at Floral Hills, 409 Filbert Rd Lynnwood, WA 98036.
Donations in his name can be made to the Friends of the Lynnwood Library.
