 EVANSVILLE — Leola Margaret Hardwick, 86, died Friday at St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville.

Born Jan. 24, 1924, in Daviess County, she was the daughter of James Gilbert and Goldie Ellen (Nelson) Courtney. A homemaker, she was a member of First Christian Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Ellen Howell of Fresno, Calif.; a sister, Nancy J. Harp of English; and brothers, Jack Ray Courtney and Larry Gene Courtney, both of Washington, and Charles Courtney of Vincennes. Her husband, Elden Hardwick, is deceased. One sister, Faye Courtney, and one brother, Robert Courtney, are also deceased.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Poindexter-Hall and McClure Funeral Home, Odon Chapel, with Rev. Richard Smith officiating. Burial  will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. (Dec. 24, 2010)
