Lillian Woudema, 91, of Kouts passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at the VNA Horton Hospice Center in Valparaiso.

She was born November 2, 1916 in Wanatah to Willard and Nellie Herren. She worked for 50 plus years in the merchandising business one of the employers being Harvey's Dime Store in Valparaiso. Lillian belonged to Kniman Methodist Church and enjoyed sewing, baking, fishing, and her grandchildren.

On December 20, 1966 in Valparaiso Lillian married John Woudema who passed away in 2004.

She is survived by seven children: Kathy (Denvil) Adkins, George (JoAnne) Morgan, Butch (Julie) Morgan, John (Alice) Gibson, Helen (Bruce) McCoy, Diana (Mike) Stone, Eileen Paskle; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband; two daughters: Shirley Humes and Phyllis Benke; three sisters; and two brothers. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Kosanke Funeral Home, 105 E. Indiana Ave., Kouts, IN with Reverend Alvin Smith officiating.


Interment will take place at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the VNA Horton Hospice Center in Valparaiso.
