Louella M. "Mom" Fleenor, 88, a resident of the Joseph area since 1925, died on Friday, Aug. 24, 1979, at the Wallowa County Nursing Home, where she lived for the past two years. She was in failing health approximately four years.

She was born in Pittsburg, Penn., on Nov. 3, 1890, the daughter of Orren William and Catherine Foster. On Oct. 23, 1913, she was married to Claude B. Fleenor in Vancouver, Wash. He preceded her in death on May 10, 1964.

Mrs. Fleenor was a member of VFW Auxiliary #4307; Joseph Silver Lake Rebekah Lodge #121: American Legion Post #157 Auxiliary, Wallowa Lake; and OES #67, Joseph. She was also an honorary member of the Joseph Chamber of commerce, and a former member of Joseph Garden Club, and of the Senior Citizen Area Council.

Services were conducted by the Order of Eastern Star, Joseph, #67, at 2 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 27, 1979, at the Enterprise Cemetery.
Honorary bearers were Harvey Strobel, Leland Hayes, Wayne Davis, Sanford Thorpe, John Jacobson, Bob Cole, George Grandy and Lawrence Potter.

Interment was in the Enterprise Cemetery, with Bollman Funeral Home handling all arrangements.
She is survived by one son, Claude B. Fleenor, Enterprise; one daughter, Helen E. Trump, Joseph; two grandchildren, Claude A. Fleenor of Enterprise, and Mrs. Jim (Meleece) DeRoest of Eugene; and three great-granddaughters, Christian, Rachaelle, and Sephora DeRoest, all of Eugene.
