Margaret Hochstein, 83, Hartington, died June 5, 2002 at Avera Heart Hospital, Yankton, SD.
Mass of Christian Burial was at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Hartington with Msgr. Cyril Werner and Rev. John Pietramale officiating.
Burial in St. Michael's Cemetery, Hartington.
Pallbearers: Scott Hochstein, Todd Hochstein, David Hayes, Dexter Dawson, Michael Hansen, and Bob Gentrup.
Margaret was born February 21, 1919 to John W. and Delphia "Dottie" (Frans) Woodard. She married Robert C. Puntney. He died in December of 1954. She married Mark A. Hochstein on August 1, 1956 in Hartington. He died November 15, 1998 at the age of 88.
Margaret grew up in Coleridge and graduated from Lincoln High School in Lincoln. Before her marriage to Robert she worked in Sioux City IA., for a dentist. She worked for the Hartington Nursing Center for 12 years in the dietary and laundry departments.
She was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church and former participant in perpetual adoration. Member of Christian Mothers, Catholic Daughters of America, former member of the Pleasant Dale & Rosehill clubs.
Survivors: four children; Judy Puntney Smith, Hartington, Denise (Ed) Stratman, Wynot; Scott(Ellen) Hochstein, Ponder, TX.; Todd (Jessica) Hochstein, Fremont; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Robert and Mark; and brother, Charles Woodard.
