Obituary - Margaret (Rauch) Jarvis

Margaret Charlene Jarvis, 90, of Terre Haute, passed away on Nov. 24, 2017, at Meadows Manor East. She was born Dec. 11, 1926, in Terre Haute to Harry M. and Lottie A. (Connett) Rausch.

Margaret was a member of the Eighth Avenue Baptist Church. "Marty" as she was known to friends and family was a retiree of General Housewares after 32 years as a welder.

Marty was preceded in death by her first husband, Ross Edward Joseph, in 1980. Together they had three children who survive, Vicki (Arnie) Elkins of Black Canyon City, Ariz., Ronald (Connie) Joseph of Terre Haute and Keith Joseph of Farmersburg. Marty was also preceded in death by her second husband, Norman "Whitey " Jarvis, in2001; and a granddaughter, Melody Myers. Also preceding Marty in death were her brother, Harry Rausch; and sister, Maesel Densmore.

Marty has three stepdaughters surviving, Doris (Charlie) Olah, St. Louis, Joyce (Roscoe) Rice, Terre Haute, and Ellen (BJ) Sedletzeck, Terre Haute. Marty is also survived by her special niece, Connie Jukes; seven grandchildren, Jade (Mike) Alto, Barton Joseph, Courtney Joseph, Chip, Kathy, and Meesa Olah, Mickey Myers; four great-grandchildren, Gabe and Landyn Alto and Barton and Jaesa Joseph. There are many nieces and nephews in the Joseph family who loved their 'Aunt Marty'.

The family would like to give special thanks to Hospice of the Wabash Valley, Nurse Deidre and the staff as well as, Meadows Manor East and their caring staff. Marty was so appreciative of all that you did to make her feel comfortable and secure.

In honoring Margaret's wishes, cremation has been chosen. Graveside services will be scheduled at a later date. The family has entrusted the care and arrangements with Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N. 13th St., Terre Haute, Indiana 47804.
