NEWPORT NEWS - Marian Elizabeth Fleenor Davis, affectionately known as Beth, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the age of 80.

Beth was born on February 4, 1937 in Newport News, VA, to the late Edward and Eleanor Scott Fleenor. She was a 1955 graduate of Newport News High School. Beth was a career Custom Service Representative for Capital Airlines and then United Airlines until her retirement.

She was born with an adventurous spirit, and her family and her career took her to many places around the world, including Japan, Hawaii, Chicago, Washington and Atlanta. But her heart was firmly planted in the Tidewater area and that is where she chose to retire. Beth spent her later years in her beloved beach house in Buckroe. She generously volunteered her time at the Riverside Rehabilitation Hospital, The American Theater, and The American Cancer Society.

Two years ago, Beth chose to move closer to her daughter in North Carolina. There she continued to stay active in her new church, Williamson's Chapel United Methodist Church and the Habitat for Humanity organization.

Beth is survived by her children, Kimberly Knight (Warren) of Mooresville, NC, Karen Ball (Jim) of Colorado Springs, CO, and Eric Stoutamyer (Stacy) of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren, Brittany Knight Mori, Christopher Knight, Daniel Ball, Sarah, Haley, Ryan and Jake Stoutamyer; great granddaughter, Kairi Mori and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a celebration of life this summer in her home town of Hampton, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Towns Habitat Restore, 121 Norman Station Blvd, Mooresville, NC 28117 and/or First United Methodist Church Foxhill, 1 Salt Pond Rd, Hampton, VA 23664. Cavin-Cook Funeral Home & Crematory, Mooresville, NC, is serving the Davis family.
