MARK A. HOCHSTEIN
HARTINGTON - Mark A. Hochstein, 88, Hartington, died Nov. 15, 1998, at the
Hartington Nursing Center. Services were Nov. 17 at Holy Trinity Catholic
Church, Hartington, with Rev. Stan Schmidt officiating.
Burial was at St. Michael's Cemetery, Hartington.
Pallbearers were Dick Hochstein, Don Feilmeier, Duane Arens, Jim Hochstein,
Jean Hochstein and Kenny Becker.
Mark was born May 9, 1910, to Peter and Ida (Kathol) Hochstein in Bow
Valley. He married Margaret Woodard Aug. 1, 1956, in Hartington. He has
lived and farmed in the Bow Valley and Hartington areas all of his life.
Mark raised purebred chester white hogs.
He was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Hartington, VFW Post
5283 and Hartington American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret, Hartington; four children and their
spouses, Judy Puntney Smith, Hartington; Denise and Ed Stratman, Wynot;
Scott and Ellen Hochstein, Ponder, Texas. and Todd and Jessica Hochstein,
Fremont; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Hulda
Becker, Hartington, and and Mrs. Arthur (Erna) Arens, Hartington; seven
brothers, Steven Hochstein, Hartington; Paul Hochstein, Bow Valley; Alfred
E. Hochstein, Hartington, Adrian Hochstein, Wynot, Emery Hochstein,
Hartington; Elmer Hochstein, Coleridge; and Merlin Hochstein, Wynot; and
many nieces and nephews.
