Obituary - Martha Mae (Kegin) Redwine
A Celebration of Life service for Martha Mae Redwine, 78, Covington, will
be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2015, at Covington United Methodist Church,
with the Rev. Dawn Richards officiating. Burial will follow at Covington
Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Martha was born March 5, 1937, in Covington, to Roy Kegin and Sarah Blanche
Gibson, and she went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, Dec. 11,
2015. She grew up in Enid and Covington, where she graduated from Covington
High School in 1955. She married Calvin Redwine Feb. 15, 1958, in Covington
at Free Methodist Church by her uncle Bob Kegin.
Martha worked at the phone company in Covington, later moving to
Whitesettlement, Texas, where she worked for Lone Star Telephone for 3½
years as a switchboard operator. They moved back to Covington 1963. She
worked for the U.S. Post Office in Covington, Enid and Garber for 19 years.
She was a member of United Methodist Church in Covington, where she was very
active. She volunteered at the food pantry.
Martha is survived by her husband Calvin of the home; son Tim and wife Linda
Redwine of Enid; daughter Teresa and husband Brad Ritt of Mascoutah, Ill.;
five grandchildren; Eric, Vanessa and Kelsie Redwine, and Micah and Makai
Ritt; brother Joe Kegin and wife Beverly; two sisters, Wilma Fluman and
husband Gerald and Lela Kotlan; several nieces and nephews; and close family
friends Stacie and Traci Kaiser and Bonnie Kaiser-Gambill.
Memorials may be made to Covington United Methodist Church with
Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.
