Mary Alice Negus

Mary Alice Negus, 94, of Whitewater, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015, at Fairhaven Retirement Community. 

She was born on October 8, 1920, in Greenfield, Indiana, daughter of McKinley and Hilda (Scudder) Arnold. Mary Alice graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she met her future husband. She married Frederick W. Negus, Sr. on February 17, 1945, in Washington D.C at the end of the war.

While Mary Alice was at the University of Wisconsin she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority. Mary Alice had been an active member of PEO for many years. She was a homemaker and active in many civic clubs and church activities in her early years. An entrepreneur, she developed and marketed a line of dollhouses under the name Corri Products. Mary Alice was blessed with many lifelong friends and their families. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. In her later years she received excellent care from the staff at Fairhaven Retirement Community. Mary Alice was a member of the First Congregational Church UCC in Fort Atkinson. 

Mary Alice is survived by her son, Fred (Janet) Negus, Jr. of Jefferson; daughters, Jane (Tom) Schoback of Delafield and Susan Negus of Anchorage; grandchildren, Jessica Negus of Oshkosh, Claire (Kort) Frank of Madison, John (fiancée Natalie Keeley) Negus of Minneapolis, Ty (Sarah) Schoback of Edina, and John Schoback of New York, and great grandchildren Briella and Adeline Schoback. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and grandson Thomas Negus Schoback. 

Private funeral services are pending. A private burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
