Mary Lou Thompson
1938 - 2022
Bedford-Mary Lou Thompson, 83 of Bedford passed away at 7:21 am on Thursday,
February 10, 2022, at the I.U. Health Bedford Hospital.
Born May 20, 1938, in Monroe County, IN, she was the daughter of Opher and
Rosie (McFarland) Andis. She married Errol Wayne "Cotton" Thompson on
November 6, 1982, and he preceded her in death on October 17, 2013. She was
a member of the VFW 1686 Auxiliary in Oolitic.
Survivors include two daughters, Rennah White of Bloomington, and Tammy
Chandler and her husband Curtis of Bedford; a son, Kevin Hearth of Oolitic;
grandchildren, Jessica Chapman, R.J. Rhodes, Haley Chandler, Wesley Hearth,
Nathaniel Hearth; four great grandchildren, Konnor James Grubb, Gracie Lynn
White, Emberlynn Chapman, and Raelynn Simpson; her sisters, Gladys Blake,
and Martha Howard, a sister-in-law, Ann Andis, and several nieces and
nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two daughters, Rita
Ann Thompson, and Beverly Ann in infancy, a granddaughter, Jana Lynn
Tomlinson, a grandson, Roy Wayne White; brothers, and sisters- in- law, Ray
and Geneva Andis, Curtis and Bertha Andis, Roy and Mary Andis, John and
Phyllis Andis, Jesse Andis, Earl Andis in infancy, and William James Andis
in infancy: her brothers-in-law, Hubert Blake and Thurman Howard.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 18th in
the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in the
Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the hour
of service on Friday at the mortuary.
