Noah Scott

Noah Scott, son of Mr. and Mrs. Reason and Nancy Scott, was born in Loogoote, Ind., June 19, 1863, and departed this life Feb. 1, 1956.

He came to Kansas as a young man of 20 years of age. Here he resided until the end.

On Dec. 16, 1889, he was united in marriage to Miss Orah Sturdevant. To this union nine children were born. One child died in infancy.

He lived in Ellsworth County for three years, then he moved to Lincoln county where he lived for 63 years. He received the rites of Christian baptism on Dec. 17, 1917. To this faith he remained true. He was a member of the Masonic lodge No. 154 of Lincoln, Kan.

He is survived by his companion of many years, and eight children, three sons, R.C. Scott of Dodge City, Kan.; Ralph of Ness City, Kan.; and Donald of Beverly, Kan.; five daughters, Ada Galloway of Exeter, Calif.; Nellie Upjohn of Mesa, Ariz.; Ruth Blymn of Hobbs, N.M.; Edith Nelson of Salina, Kan.; and Dorothy Stucker of Fresno, Calif.; 20
grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one brother, Joseph R. Scott, Vinata, Okla.; one half-sister, Mrs. Julia Ann Girdley of Burns City, Ind.; other relatives and many friends.

The funeral services for Mr. Scott were held Saturday from the Community church in Beverly with the Rev. R.L. Hendrickson in charge. The Masonic lodge had charge of the services at the cemetery. Interment was in the Beverly cemetery.
