Ola Frances Whaley Denton

Ola Frances Whaley Denton, age 94, of Bristol, Va. went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at the Cambridge House. 

 

She was born September 10, 1922 in Chucky, TN, a daughter of the late David W. and Lucy Treadway Whaley, and she lived most of her life in the Bristol area. Ola was a member of the Revival Center Church, and was retired from Gordon Garment. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul W. Denton; step mother, Hattie Whaley; and siblings, James E. Whaley, Mary Martin, Virginia Jones, David Whaley, Tommy Whaley, Charlie Whaley and Elizabeth Bordwine.

 

She is survived by her children, David L. Denton and wife Joan, Marvin E. Denton and wife Maggie, Phyllis Hobbs and husband L.C., Arlin L. Denton and wife Peggy; siblings, Violet Brewer, Dede Cyrus and Jo Mutter; eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

 

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, May 27, 2017 at the Revival Center Church, 19752 Benhams Rd. Bristol, VA, with Rev. Lyons Smith and Rev. Leonard Rhymer. The burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the church. Pallbearers will be Tony Denton, Keith Denton, Brian Denton, Shean Hobbs, David Nunley and Wesley Nunley.
