Obituary - Oscar Saraprudence Morrow

Oscar S. Morrow, 87, of Wichita Falls went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 16, 2008. He was born Feb. 17, 1920, in Anson, Texas, but most of his life was in the Wichita Falls, area. He came to know the Heavenly Father in 1999. He was loved by his family and many friends and will be missed by all that knew him. The Angels are singing and rejoicing his presence today.

The funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m., Monday, Jan. 21, 2008, in the chapel of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls, with the Rev. Charles Bartlett, officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.

Oscar served his country fighting in WWII from 1938-1945 with the Army, A Batt., 131st Field Art., 36 Div. (T-Patch). He fought all through Europe, France, Italy, Germany, and many more areas. Oscar was wounded twice and received the Purple Heart with Gold Oak Leaf cluster. He served his country proudly, was a Disabled Veteran, and a member of the VFW and DAV.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Farley Morrow; mother, Myrtle Florence Riley; brothers, Charles Morrow, A. C. "Doc" Morrow, T. F. Morrow, James Henry Morrow, and Douglas Preston Morrow; sisters, Georgie Ionia Brown and Frankie Lawrey; and his grandson, Robert L. Vick.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Helen J. Morrow; daughters, Darlene Wise of Burkburnett, and Shirley Vick and husband, Robert of Wylie; son, Don Morrow and wife, Cindy of Wichita Falls; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; close friend, Floyd Jones; many nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008, at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
