Obituary - Rea Ellis Ray
Rea Ellis Ray, 81, Seymour, passed away Friday, Sept. 16, 2011, at
Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.
He was a member of Trinity Pentecostal Chapel. He retired from Cummins after
35 years. He played the piano at church for more than 60 years.
Born March 11, 1930, in Bedford, he was the son of the Rev. James Floyd and
Celia F. Devers Ray, both of whom preceded him in death. On June 25, 1950,
at Trinity Pentecostal Chapel, he married Luetta Marie Engelking, who
survives.
Other survivors include sons, Stephen (Jane) Ray, David (Mary) Ray, James
(Gail) Ray, Mark (Tina) Ray and Floyd (Robin) Ray; 13 grandchildren; 19
great-grandchildren; brothers, Joseph (Sally) Ray and John Ray; and sisters,
Ula Grey and Yvonne (Ronald) Jones.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Rex Ray; sister, Eura Minton; and
sister-in-law, Maxine Ray.
Brother Larry Dalton will conduct funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Monday at
Trinity Pentecostal Chapel, Seymour. Burial will take place at Riverview
Cemetery with a Voss dove release.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Voss Chapel, Seymour, and
from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Monday at the church.
